West Philadelphia Catholic High School

West Philadelphia Catholic High School is a Catholic community of academic excellence in an urban environment which is open to an interdenominational population. The school’s rigorous spiritual, academic, technological, and co-curricular programs develop our ethnically and religiously diverse student body into young men and women of strong moral and ethical character. West Catholic prepares each student to face the challenges of everyday life in an ever-changing world.

Christian Association

The Christian Association at the University of Pennsylvania serves as an ecumenical resource at Penn and the greater community providing advocacy and direct service on cultural diversity, interfaith education, sexuality, and peacemaking. Our mission is to advocate for peace and justice and educate for faith development of the Penn community. We do not proselytize to a religious ideology, and through advocacy and direct service we provide opportunities for individuals to develop their own personal voice.

Penn African Students Association

Penn African Student Association is a student organisation at the University of Pennsylvania that strives to educate and promote awareness of Africa in the Penn community. Throughout the academic year, we conduct group discussions on numerous issues faced in Africa and by Africans. In keeping with the vibrant spirit of Africa, we hold many social gatherings intended to bring both PASA and non-PASA members together in unity and host several widely popular events, iincluding the annual Africa Fest. All this is aimed towards generating and supporting interest in Africa at Penn>

African Studies Center

The African Studies Center at the University of Pennsylvania brings together researchers and students, along with cultural, business and media entities, to gain knowledge of contemporary and historical Africa.

The Center coordinates a wide range of course offerings and events in a variety of disciplines ranging from history, language and culture to health, science and business. The geographic expertise of Penn Africanist faculty and staff spans the continent and extends to the African diaspora. They share a commitment to an interdisciplinary approach to the study of African people, their institutions, and the wider world where they now reside. Distinguished visiting scholars from the United States and Africa regularly contribute to the Center’s diversity of expertise, while benefiting from the resources available at Penn and in the region.

In recognition of the quality and richness of African Studies resources at Penn, Bryn Mawr, Haverford, and Swarthmore colleges, this four-school consortium has repeatedly received Title VI National Resource Center grants from the United States Department of Education since 1993.
